About The Position

The Process Compliance Engineer serves as an independent resource responsible for ensuring Quality Management System (QMS) processes are executed in accordance with approved work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations. This role works closely with leadership and employees across the organization to evaluate process adherence, identify gaps between documented procedures and actual practices, and drive corrective actions that improve operational consistency, compliance, quality, and performance. The Process Compliance Engineer also leads internal QMS audits, supports external audit activities, evaluates document and record control processes, and assists with QMS implementation, monitoring, and training efforts across departments. This position plays a key role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Must exhibit a relevant bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET EAC accredited program at a four-year college or university. Proof of degree required. A transcript or diploma would be acceptable and must be provided.
  • Must exhibit knowledge of manufacturing, quality, engineering, compliance, or process improvement.
  • Must be trained as a lead auditor compliant with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and American Petroleum Institute (API) training processes. If the applicant is not already trained, intent could best be demonstrated by signing a Memo of Understanding that the applicant intends to complete the Training. Training must be completed within six months of being on the job. If training is not completed at the end of the six-month period, the incumbent will be removed from the position.
  • Must be improvement oriented.
  • Must exhibit knowledge of the requirements of the Quality Management System standards, such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and/or American Petroleum Institute (API) Specification Q1.

  • Must exhibit a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must exhibit the ability to read and interpret complex specifications for projects, such as technical drawings, product codes, etc.
  • Must exhibit good attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Must exhibit a tolerance for stress, the ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines under a dynamic work schedule.
  • The nature of this position requires performing job duties with numerous interruptions.

  • Must exhibit the ability to read and interpret measuring instruments, such as measuring tapes, rulers, calipers, gauges, dial indicators, and micrometers.
  • Must exhibit the ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Must exhibit good reasoning and analytical skills for identifying and resolving problems.
  • Must meet the physical requirements for safe operation of mobile equipment as administered by the Company.
  • Must exhibit the ability to effectively train others.

Nice To Haves

  • An Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering degree from an ABET EAC accredited program at a four-year college or university. Proof of degree required. A transcript or diploma would be acceptable and must be provided.
  • Graduate education or professional certification. Proof of degree or certification required. A transcript or diploma would be acceptable and must be provided for proof of graduate education. A copy of the certificate must be provided for proof of achievement.
  • Prior work experience with root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, management of change, risk assessment and treatment, audits, and document control.
  • Prior work experience conducting audits and evaluating process adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Audit employee and process compliance with work instructions, SOPs, and quality standards.
  • Identify process gaps, nonconformances, training needs, and improvement opportunities; support corrective actions.
  • Review, maintain, and improve work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS requirements and applicable API, ISO, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead internal audits and coordinate customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
  • Monitor process changes and manage updates through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Evaluate procedure effectiveness and drive process standardization across departments.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Technical Services, and Product Development to support quality objectives.
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, QMS training, and performance monitoring.
  • Promote a culture of safety, environmental compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.
