About The Position

As a Process Assurance Engineer with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to design electric propulsion systems for the battery-powered aircrafts that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B. Requirements

  • Knowledge of definition of system development process and related documentation in accordance with ARP-4754A
  • Knowledge of definition of electronic hardware development process and related documentation in accordance with DO-254
  • Knowledge of definition of software development process and related documentation in accordance with DO-178 and DO-331
  • Knowledge of definition of Cyber Security related processes.
  • Experience in new product development and phase-gate processes
  • Experience in development of electromechanical propulsion systems or electromechanical actuation systems
  • Experience with development of electronic controllers for safety critical applications
  • Experience in requirements based development
  • Experience with ARP-4754A, DO-254, DO178C and DO-331
  • Experience with Cyber-Security methods applicable to commercial aviation
  • Experience with airworthiness certification requirements
  • Experience with IBM DOORS or JAMA
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in motor control / modelling

  • Experience with power electronics and motor control

Responsibilities

  • Defining the product development processes for System, HW and FW in accordance with applicable aeronautical regulations: ARP-4754A, DO-254 and DO-178C.
  • Providing training for the product engineers about the defined development processes.
  • Conducting internal audits and supporting audits from customers and authorities.
  • Working in a collaborative cross-functional environment for the development of an Electric Propulsion Unit.
  • Definition of system development process and related documentation in accordance with ARP-4754A.
  • Definition of electronic hardware development process and related documentation in accordance with DO-254.
  • Definition of software development process and related documentation in accordance with DO-178 and DO-331.
  • Definition of Cyber Security related processes.
  • Analysis and approval of development process documents provided by HW, FW and SW suppliers.
  • Provide training to the team about process assurance standards and defined development processes.
  • Select, set up, and conduct administrative activities related to requirements management tools.
  • Provide training and support engineering teams on the requirements management tool.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with defined processes.
  • Support external audits from customers and authorities concerning development processes.
