Auxly CannabisLakeshore, ON
CA$70,000 - CA$80,000

About The Position

Auxly is an international cannabis company dedicated to bringing innovative, effective, and high-quality cannabis products to the medical, wellness and adult-use markets. Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in industrial/mechanical engineering, process engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing process improvement.
  • Experience with SOP writing and document control in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working with production data — spreadsheets at minimum; BI/analytics tools a plus.
  • Experience commissioning new equipment or production lines is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable estimating production costs (labour, run rate, waste) well enough to give Commercial a credible early read.
  • Able to work cross-functionally with floor leadership and Commercial/packaging teams without formal authority over them.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production data (throughput, downtime, yield, changeover time) to identify improvement opportunities across cells and shifts.
  • Write, revise, and maintain SOPs and work instructions for production equipment and processes.
  • Lead process improvement projects from problem definition through implementation and validation.
  • Own onboarding of new equipment and production lines — commissioning, operator training materials, initial SOPs.
  • Partner with Maintenance to root-cause recurring equipment failures and design out chronic issues.
  • Support capacity planning by modeling how staffing, equipment, and shift structure changes affect output.
  • Support new product and packaging development: work with the packaging specialist to confirm new formats and materials run reliably on existing equipment before launch, flagging changes needed to tooling, SOPs, or line setup.
  • Estimate production cost and throughput impact of proposed new products/packaging alongside Commercial, prior to launch commitment — labour, changeover time, run rate, scrap/waste expectations.
  • Run and document trial/pilot runs for new products, translating results into go/no-go input for Commercial and the Production Manager.
  • Track and report improvement initiatives and new product development status to the Production Manager.
