About The Position
Our Back of House (BOH) Development, Design, and Procurement team is seeking a versatile problem-solver for a project-based internship in data analysis and process improvement. You’ll join the small internal BOH team, which exists within the Construction and Design/Development team at Wonder. The role touches many parts of the organization, providing mentorship from multiple leadership levels. You will apply analytical skills to a physical, real-world environment, shaping purchasing decisions and redesigning workflows that get tested directly on job sites.
Requirements
- Able to manage more than one active task at a time without losing quality
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision and proactively asking questions to clarify scope
- Willing to spend time on active job sites in addition to standard desk-based work
- Open to feedback and iteration from mentors and cross-functional partners
- Communicate progress clearly and flag blockers early
- Comfortable with using AI tools to accelerate learning
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (preferred, not required)
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analysis
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills for building functional, scalable tools
- Data visualization and dashboard-building experience
- Critical thinking and problem-solving - comfortable turning ambiguous, real-world problems into structured systems
- Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical, internal and external audiences
- Adaptable and collaborative, with an eagerness to learn from mentors at multiple levels of the team
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship experience preferred - a strong stepping stone toward a career in data analytics, operations, or process design
Responsibilities
- Perform data cleaning, structuring, and analysis in Python and Excel/Google Sheets
- Build and iterate on dashboards and process tools based on user feedback
- Communicate progress and findings to internal stakeholders and team leadership
- Meet with Operations or Construction Project Managers to gather data or feedback on their processes and pain points
- Test and refine workflows directly with field and vendor team
