About The Position

Accountable for organizing and managing large and varied data sets; analyzing complex data to optimize business operations and identify trends for improvement; and communicating findings into meaningful understanding through the use of data visualization and detailed reports to support clinical decision makers within the WTH organization. Build, deploy and maintain dashboards and analyses that support identification of meaningful clinical quality, safety and cost trends. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify root causes of trends. May work with multiple business segments and departments. The ideal candidate will have a thirst for continuous learning, investigative analytics, ad hoc reporting and creative problem solving. He/she serve as an expert on the projects they support, sharing work with a wide array of audiences. Will have the opportunity to utilize and grow in programming, analytics and reporting.

Requirements

  • Trained professional with knowledge of Healthcare and/or IS normally required through four plus years of college or technical school or equivalent work experience.
  • Experienced in using data management, analytic, and visualization tools and the ability to present information in a precise and understandable manner to the end users, team members, management, and vendors.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of clinical and workflow processes and reports and is able to communicate such understanding to individuals effectively and tactfully
  • Ability to draw meaningful conclusion from large amounts of data by relating data to operational circumstances.
  • Must possess the ability to think through issues and apply sound logic
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to present information, conduct meetings, etc. and to explain the results and impact of the analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Epic and Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources including electronic health records, claims, encounter level data, and payers.
  • Identify and assess the business impact of trends.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of large-scale projects and new reporting tools, translating business goals into actionable solutions
  • Partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization and effectively, both verbally and visually, communicate findings and insights to non-technical business partners.
  • Engage with business leaders to understand service line and market specific levers and constraints.
  • Leverage enterprise reporting tools to rapidly deliver data driven insights and recommendations in the clinical environment.
  • Research key business problems and identify possible opportunities for cost and utilization improvements through quantitative analysis.
  • Provides routine reports to end users and serves as a contact for issues surrounding the reports to meet the reporting needs of the organization
  • Performs on-demand reports to provide insight into clinical performance and to address specific concerns expressed by management
  • Provides routine updates to information portal dashboards, highlights and scorecards
  • Investigates, analyzes and resolves I.S. user and system problems
  • Assists in the coordination to provide required data to external benchmarking databases for comparative reporting and data analysis
  • Compiles requests for clinical data for surveys, Joint Commission, Medicare and other agencies
  • Maintains data dictionary, ensures database integrity – performs routine audits
  • Participates in Analytics user groups and interacts with external contacts
  • Provides formal presentations when needed
  • Completes all hospital-wide orientation, complying with policies and accepting personal responsibility for mandatory in-service requirements
