About The Position

Heartland Fertility and Gynecology Clinic is seeking a confident, professional, positive and experienced individual to join our team as a Procedure Nurse. The successful candidate will be supporting patients throughout the procedural process of their fertility journey. This includes, but is not limited to, egg retrievals, embryo transfers, pre and post op care, counselling and education. The role requires someone who is empathetic and energetic. The clinic is fast paced, and patient care must remain the priority.

Requirements

Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving and decision making.
Excellent computer skills and comfortable working with an EMR.
Excellent communication skills and clear, concise charting.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to respond to emergent situations.
Knowledge regarding providing a safe and inclusive environment to gender and sexual diverse patients and their families.
Committed to and passionate about patient centered care and an interest in reproductive science and care.
Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, ideally with a focus on women’s health.
Must be registered with the Manitoba College of Registered Nurses or the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and in good standing.
Current BCLS
Current PHIA
Ability to multitask while also focusing on details in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience using EChart and EHub would be an asset.
Experience working with an EMR, preferably Accuro.

Responsibilities

Providing compassionate and empathetic care, regardless of age, culture, gender or sexual preference.
Demonstrated knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques.
Medication administration and storage.
Venipunctiure, vital signs and patient assessments.
Clear, concise and timely charting and knowledge of EMRs.
Communication and collaboration with the teams in clinic, including the physicians, embryologists, andrologists, administration and management.
Patient teaching and education.
Provide emotional support and grief counselling to patients and families and provide resources for those in need.
Participate in continued education and professional development with the goal to continuously improve the program for patients and staff.
Maintains confidentiality and privacy.
