Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 6+ years of relevant experience OR Associate’s Degree AND 4+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Must have expert knowledge of our systems, consumables, and competitive market to compete to win.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • Possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment (for roles below Principal level).
  • Valid driver's license is essential for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth in a clinically complex, competitive sales environment, with experience managing a full sales cycle and consistently meeting or exceeding quota.
  • Prior experience supporting complex, procedure‑based technologies in the OR, cath lab, endoscopy suite, or interventional pulmonology setting.
  • Existing relationships or exposure to interventional pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, or adjacent procedural specialties (GI, IR, peripheral vascular).
  • Comfort navigating competitive clinical environments and confidently positioning products during live cases.
  • Excellent written, verbal skills; proficient with Windows Office Products.
  • Ability to develop and present complex business reviews/presentations.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for program development and clinical success, including procedural sales, growth of consumables, driving overall utilization of the Medtronic Lung Health portfolio, and identifying/assisting in new capital placements.
  • Disrupt the peripheral lung biopsy market by increasing ILLUMISITE™ procedure utilization.
  • Expand the commercialization of ILLUMISITE™ and its differentiated clinical, and economic value proposition with additional Pulmonary & Thoracic Surgery proceduralists in a competitive setting.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager (DM), Strategic Program Executive (SPE), and Clinical Specialists (CS) to develop broader lung health programs within defined customer base.
  • Provide procedure and educational support to physicians, staff and supporting departments (on an as needed basis).
  • Execute implementation plan in new accounts, setting expectations with customers and supporting a multidisciplinary approach and lung nodule programs.
  • Lead clinical/technical discussions and demonstrations as part of the sales process and referral education activities.
  • Organize and execute procedure and business review meetings with hospital administration, physicians, and department directors.
  • Manage territory travel and expense budget.
  • Effectively build a territory business plan which incorporates detailed assessment of all current and potential accounts, identifying and executing on areas of opportunity including referral development plans.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales quotas and objectives in all categories.
  • Adhere to all Medtronic policies and procedures relative to T&E, expenses, compliance, and ethics.
  • Utilize technology and data to analyze territory, effectively target accounts and pre-call planning.
  • Maintain knowledge of the current industry/competitive landscape, healthcare economics, reimbursement, competitors, and competitive products etc.
  • Interact with Education, Product Marketing, Market Development, Customer Service, and other internal departments.
  • Resolve customer complaints in accordance with Company policy, and advises sales management promptly of any situation beyond the Sales Representative’s ability to resolve.
  • Remain current with all vendor credentialing requirements which include immunizations and hospital protocol certification.
