Provides specific patient care and environment of care duties on the Postpartum unit before and after procedures to facilitate safe patient outcomes under the direction of the registered nurse. This role involves assisting the patient care team with patient transfers, positioning, and transportation to and from the Procedure Area. The technician is responsible for setting up necessary procedure equipment and supplies, restocking rooms, and ensuring appropriate equipment and supplies are available for procedures. Additionally, the role includes cleaning procedures, handling contaminated items, completing equipment quality controls, troubleshooting minor equipment issues, and responding to patient crisis situations within their scope of responsibility. The technician must demonstrate knowledge of age-appropriate care, practice professional etiquette, communicate effectively, and be proficient in computer programs. They are expected to perform assigned work safely, adhere to departmental safety rules, and complete mandatory in-service education.
