About The Position

Provides advanced direct and indirect patient care in the Peri-Operative setting under the supervision of licensed nursing and medical staff. This role includes specialized support for Neuro Interventional Radiology (Neuro IR) procedures, requiring technical skill, sterile technique, and procedural coordination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Certification in sterile processing or surgical technology preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the operating room environment.
  • Facilitate efficient room turnover in collaboration with surgical team.
  • Transport patients, specimens, and non-controlled medications according to hospital policy.
  • Assist with patient transfer, positioning, and holding for preparation as directed.
  • Ensure availability and proper stocking of surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Serve as liaison with Supply Chain, SPC, Central Stores, and Purchasing.
  • Provide backup support to the Materials Coordinator and assist with inventory management.
  • Handle medications, sharps, and syringes on the OR field in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Perform Other duties as assigned
  • Provide Neuro IR procedure support as needed, including: Prepare and set up the Penumbra aspiration pump and Neuro IR packs.
  • Sterile preparation of Neuro IR instruments and supplies for provider use.
  • Assist in positioning patients for Neuro IR procedures, ensuring proper alignment and safety.
  • Confirm ECG lead placement on the chest only, directed toward the feet, per procedural protocol.
  • Support Interventional Radiology Technologist in prepping and draping the patient using aseptic technique.
