About The Position

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor or their designee, this individual will be required to troubleshoot and resolve inventory related issues within the Stacks department. Responsible for resolving problems related to stocking/receiving discrepancies, picking errors in totes and trucks, orders with extra or missing books, and inventory cycle counting problems. This role also involves checking for damaged books, monitoring reports for missing/extra books from other departments, and managing department supply stock. The position requires performing other duties as directed by the supervisor, maintaining a safe and organized work area, and may involve mandatory overtime.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to research and work efficiently using appropriate software and tools provided
  • Ability to learn production internal systems
  • Must communicate effectively with other employees in pertinent work areas
  • Must follow the production guidelines in place and work under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to write reports and keep related records as associated with stocking
  • Must have the ability to distinguish a pickpack, as established through production standards, specifications, and or customers’ orders
  • Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise (conveyor) and dust.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hr. shifts
  • Possess the ability to frequently bend and lift 40lbs and up to 70lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to push book trucks (on wheels) weighing several hundred pounds.
  • Required to float throughout the work area and move from task to task as required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve inventory related issues within the Stacks department.
  • Resolve problems related to stocking/receiving discrepancies.
  • Resolve problems related to picking errors in totes and trucks.
  • Review and resolve orders that have extra or missing books.
  • Review and correct inventory cycle counting problems.
  • Check for damaged books as needed.
  • Monitor reports for missing/extra books from other departments.
  • Manage supply stock required for department.
  • Perform other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas, emptying trash cans and barrels and sweeping of floors, as needed.
