About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking a highly motivated Probe Manufacturing Technician that will support Technology Development (TD). In this role, you will be responsible for processing wafers for testing with speed and accuracy to ensure rapid feedback to the Fab. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement experiments effectively and maintain smooth operations. As a first responder to operational inefficiencies—such as tracking or staging issues, data download failures, tool lockups, and lot verification—you will play a critical role in maintaining workflow continuity. Success in this position requires a high level of dependability, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off) and be willing to move to different shifts and work overtime to support business operations.
  • Must consistently wear lab-specific garments (100% of the time) to prevent contamination of products and occasionally wear additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face shields, as required by specific tasks (approximately 1% of the time).
  • 2+ years of industry experience; or equivalent military training and experience
  • 2+ year experience identifying performance gaps and implementing strategic improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage wafer movement through the Probe production flow using a request-based system, including lot setup, splitting, merging, shipping, and attribute updates.
  • Support production and engineering by adjusting lot processing and transferring silicon to Boise and global Micron sites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with problem lots, including scrap and reclaim disposition, while maintaining accurate documentation and inspection records.
  • Monitor priority workstations to meet execution goals such as cycle time and queue time, and provide coverage during staffing gaps.
  • Ensure timely updates to lot status and communicate shift pass-downs to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies, training gaps, and procedural issues through continuous improvement initiatives and best-known methods.
  • Collaborate across teams to communicate delays, tool issues, and process deviations, building strong working relationships to support shared goals.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following safety protocols, reporting concerns, and participating in audits and improvement efforts.
