The City of Hampton is seeking a Probation Officer II to provide probation supervision, support, and guidance to probationers referred by the courts to the Criminal Justice Agency. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and skilled in case management, with strong communication and organizational skills. Requirements

• High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience working directly with offenders or defendants.
• Must possess or obtain VCIN certification within ninety (90) days of employment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
• Must successfully pass testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
• Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.

Nice To Haves

• Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or Corrections preferred.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
