The Department of Corrections is hiring Probation and Parole Officers to contribute to community safety and offenders’ re-entry into society. Officers supervise and counsel offenders, develop supervision plans, prepare court- and parole-related documentation, serve as liaisons with enforcement officials, testify in court, maintain reports and records, and submit and act on arrest warrants. Employees typically work with convicted felons and may encounter hazardous situations, including arresting or transporting violators to proper authorities. Officers must comply with applicable laws on firearms and ammunition and complete agency-approved firearms safety training.
