About The Position

The Department of Product Design Program, part of the School of Art + Design in the College of Design at the University of Oregon, is seeking applicants for its open instructor pool. The program offers a BFA in Product Design and an MS in Sports Product Design. The Product Design Program investigates the use, invention, and production of products to improve life, adapting to changes in the material world through agility and interdisciplinary studies. Students explore physical and theoretical aspects of product design, including research, material studies, manufacturing, economic planning, and innovation. This position aims to enhance research and teaching in design focused on improving human performance, particularly in sports.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, or significant professional experience in a relevant field may substitute for the degree in exceptional circumstances.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Product Design teaching a range of drawing, design, research, studio courses, and other relevant courses.
  • Demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching.
  • Commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior college or university-level teaching experience.
