About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Pro Shop Specialist I performs advanced customer service, retail, administrative and operational duties in the municipal golf course pro shop. This position assists purchasing, requisitions, payroll processing, deposits and financial consolidation, inventory management and ordering, tournament scheduling and coordination, and the overall organization and presentation of the pro shop. The Pro Shop Specialist may also provide lead direction to part-time or seasonal staff and supports the efficient daily operation of the golf course.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Two (2) years of customer service, cashiering, or retail experience, including at least one (1) year in a golf course or recreation environment.
• Valid Texas driver's license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with purchasing or requisitions, payroll/timekeeping support, deposits or financial reconciliation, inventory management, and tournament or event coordination.
• Experience providing lead direction or training to staff.
• Knowledge of golf equipment, merchandise, and the game of golf.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Perform cashiering, customer service, and retail duties as needed.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, assist with purchasing documentation, and maintain appropriate purchasing records in accordance with City policies and procedures.
• Assist with payroll preparation and processing, including reviewing timekeeping records and identifying discrepancies for correction.
• Prepare and process daily deposits and assist with reconciliation of cash drawers, point-of-sale activity, receipts, and daily sales reports.
• Assist with financial consolidation, recordkeeping, and reporting related to golf course operations.
• Manage and monitor pro shop inventory, including ordering, receiving, pricing, stocking, tracking inventory levels, and recommending or initiating reorders.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic physical inventory counts.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and professional appearance of the pro shop, including displays, counters, storage areas, and merchandise.
• Assist with tournament and league scheduling and coordination, including registrations, tee times, pairings, scorecards, scoring, and communication with tournament organizers.
• Assist in preparing schedules and monitoring daily staff assignments.
• Provide lead direction and training to assigned staff and ensure compliance with City policies and procedures.
• Handle customer concerns and assist in resolving operational issues.
• Communicate with golf course staff regarding tee sheets, pace of play, tournaments, events, and player needs.
• Support special events, golf programs, promotions, and other operational needs as assigned.
• Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintains all required licenses, certifications, and professional credentials.
