About The Position

This role involves selling tennis merchandise in the pro shop, maintaining the pro shop, and managing court assignments. The position requires flexibility to perform various tasks as needed due to fluctuating club operations, including assisting other employees and undertaking other duties as directed by the Assistant Pro Shop Manager and/or Pro Shop Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (unless currently enrolled in High School)
  • CPR/AED & First Aid Certification
  • English language skills
  • Ability to stand three-quarters of the time
  • Ability to walk a quarter of the time
  • Ability to use hands/fingers to handle/feel at all times
  • Ability to reach with hands/arms three-quarters of the time
  • Ability to talk/hear at all times
  • Ability to occasionally climb or balance
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to occasionally lift/exert force up to 20 pounds
  • Visual requirements: Always

Responsibilities

  • Sell tennis merchandise in the pro shop.
  • Maintain the pro shop and court assignments.
  • Answer phones and take messages.
  • Book and cancel tennis lessons.
  • Sign up members for courts.
  • Charge members for purchases.
  • Process checks and credit cards.
  • Clean doors and counters.
  • Organize apparel and shoes.
  • Sign up members for tennis tournaments.
  • Write up special orders for members.
  • Assist members with apparel, rackets, shoes, etc.
  • Write up information for restringing rackets.
  • Sign up children for tennis programs.
  • Discuss rackets, strings, shoes, and apparel with members.
  • Complete other assignments made by the Assistant Pro Shop Manager and/or Pro Shop Manager.
