About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Pro Paint Sales Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Implement strategies set by leadership to drive new product introductions, promotional programs, and training in the territory. Selling 3M products including Abrasives, Tapes, Masking Systems and Safety. Supports the retailer/distributor along with the end-user (home improvement trades) to provide solutions to improve job-site efficiencies and training with our portfolios. Presenting relevant information and products to customers in face-to-face presentations as well as phone calls or e-mails Demonstrating to customers how to use 3M products and how they will add value to their company. Willingness to be on call to support your customers’ needs in your geography. Company Vehicle This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Current, valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M. This agreement lays out key terms on using 3M Confidential Information and Trade Secrets. It also has provisions discussing conflicts of interest and how inventions are assigned.
  • Employees that are Job Grade 7 or equivalent and above may also have obligations to not compete against 3M or solicit its employees or customers, both during their employment, and for a period after they leave 3M.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of territory sales in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Skills include presentation skills across many types of customers and end-users, strong data analytics and negotiation skills.
  • Bi-Lingual preferred; English/Spanish
  • Experience translating customer needs into creative solutions.
  • Ability and willingness to prioritize multiple customers, self-motivate, and be held accountable for setting and meeting goals.
