About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This position is located in Dallas and involves working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The PRN Writer will provide compelling and accurate written materials for development/fundraising purposes. This role requires acquiring and maintaining a sound knowledge of the organization, its research, patient care programs, equipment, construction projects, and other needs to inform effective fundraising efforts. The writer will research grant-making organizations to identify funding sources, compile, write, and edit development communications and grant applications with strong expository writing skills, and review project/program budgets to make recommendations for presentation to grant-making organizations. Additionally, the role involves developing individual proposals according to each grant-making organization's preferences and guidelines, and collaborating with departmental teams to submit required reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience required
  • Hearing, Seeing, Speaking

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 10 years of fundraising/development experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide compelling and accurate written materials for development/fundraising purposes.
  • Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of the organization, its research, patient care programs, equipment, construction projects, and other needs, in order to inform and carry out effective fundraising efforts.
  • Research grant-making organizations in order to identify possible funding sources for specific projects and programs.
  • Compile, write and edit Development communications and grant applications, exhibiting strong expository writing skills and a high-level command of grammar and spelling.
  • Review project/program budgets and make recommendations in order to best present information to grant-making organizations.
  • Develop individual proposals in accordance with each grant-making organization's preferences and follow exactly each grant-making organization's guidelines; supply additional supportive material, as needed.
  • Collaborate with departmental teams to coordinate and submit required progress reports, program updates, and final reports to organizations that have funded a project or program.
