About The Position

Empower Rental Group is hiring a Service Writer in Texas! Empower Rental Group is a family of local equipment rental providers across the Southeastern US. We began with 3 locations in 2021 with the goal of being the difference in the equipment rental industry by doing everything differently. We now have over 36 locations, and we are adding a Service Writer to our team at the Aledo, TX location! The Service Writer supports the CEC’s daily operations by coordinating with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure efficient and accurate service execution. This position is key to maintaining customer satisfaction by managing service-related documentation and scheduling, and by supporting the CEC team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented multitasker with a strong customer service mindset, capable of balancing administrative and operational tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Customer-first attitude with the ability to handle challenges calmly and professionally.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and the ability to drive Company vehicles per insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with rental or service management software preferred.
  • Knowledge of truck scheduling, service operations, and equipment rentals is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a service writer, dispatcher, operations coordinator, or similar role preferred.
  • Associate’s or technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries related to service, delivery, pick-ups, and order status.
  • Respond promptly to calls and requests, ensuring clear, professional communication.
  • Log all customer interactions and updates within the rental system using electronic call logs.
  • Assist walk-in customers (as applicable) with order pickups and returns.
  • Support CEC Techs with administrative tasks and customer follow-up.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Technicians regarding daily routes and job updates.
  • Record and report call-off numbers to customers as needed.
  • Coordinate with CEC Manager or Techs, or the shop, to assign equipment to service orders.
  • Generate and process purchase orders for parts, services, and supplies.
  • Assist with executing operational tasks related to project delivery, invoicing, and administration.
  • Process work orders and generate accurate invoices.
  • Ensure accuracy of cycle billing invoices.
  • Manage, create, catalog, and maintain equipment warranties.
  • Ensure all service contracts and documentation are complete and properly closed out.
  • Maintains a safe work environment.
  • Performs job functions safely at all times.
  • Participates in all safety meetings.
  • Communicates all concerns or violations to the appropriate manager(s) immediately.
  • Uses the proper Personal Protective Equipment when performing work duties.
  • Employee wears the proper shoes, glasses, gloves, ear protection, etc.
  • Employee is properly attired to perform their job safely (no loose-fitting clothes, unsafe jewelry, etc.).
  • Disposes of waste properly.
  • Abides by all local, state, and Federal laws; reads, understands, and agrees to follow the policies outlined in the Company Safety Manual and Company Handbook.
  • Demonstrates behaviors always aligned with the Company’s Core Values.
  • Assists in driving a continuous improvement strategy within the business to result in ongoing incremental gains in quality and efficiency.
