About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This PRN Social Worker position is located in Dallas at the Hospital and averages less than 19 hours per week. The role involves managing a caseload of medically and culturally diverse inpatient and outpatient families. The Social Worker will assist families and patients by completing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, identifying appropriate resources and referrals, providing supportive counseling, assisting with discharge and transition planning, and serving as a liaison and advocate between the patient and various systems. The position requires demonstrating knowledge of child development related to diagnosis, assessment, intervention, and referral of infants, toddlers, pre-school and school age children, and adolescents to appropriate community agencies. The Social Worker will meet the needs of the families as identified, presented, or requested by the interdisciplinary team or physician, communicate with the interdisciplinary team and provide valuable input relative to intervention and assistance, and document information in the medical record consistent with departmental standards. A working knowledge of a variety of referral sources and community resources appropriate for the patient population within the state of Texas is necessary. The role also includes assisting with onboarding new employees and providing ongoing support.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited (CSWE) Social Work Program required.
  • Demonstrate Care Rite Values.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a social worker and has the ability to perform job responsibilities independently.
  • Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners (TSBSWE) licensure LMSW or LCSW.
  • Proven performance record that displays zero disciplinary actions within 12 months.
  • Position requires frequent use of telephone, fax, copy machine and computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with developmentally delayed or neurologically impaired children beneficial.
