PRN Registered Nurse (RN) Transplant Bariatric Surgery Acute Care Step Down Unit
About The Position
Lerner Tower 9 is a surgical floor that is nationally recognized for solid organ transplants (liver, kidney, and pancreas). Our staff is specially trained to care for patients directly from the PACU, allowing them to bypass the ICU. Our supportive staff is a key reason why nursing staff choose to start and remain with us. Lerner Tower 9 welcomes new nursing staff and fosters a team-oriented environment where teamwork is essential for excelling in our positions. Requirements
- 1 year of RN experience required
- Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
- Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
- Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
