We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve. This is a PRN (as needed) position that supports our Lab Services team at our Essen Lane location in Baton Rouge, LA. The scope of this role involves collecting specimens for laboratory analysis and preparing them for processing by the laboratory. The phlebotomist will greet and receive all patients in a professional, warm, and efficient manner, and utilize laboratory software to register patients into the system for proper specimen processing, ensuring maximization of in-house lab processing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of a phlebotomy training program
- 2 years’ experience in a lab required
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy Certification highly preferred
- oncology experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture on patients in both a timely and professional manner.
- Verify lab orders are available and patients are registered.
- Process specimens for internal and external processing.
- Management of Lab area
