About The Position

Worldwide Clinical Trials is a global, midsize CRO that pushes boundaries and innovates to find cures for diseases. The PRN Pharmacist, under the guidance of the Pharmacy Manager and Site Director, will oversee daily pharmacy operations for clinical trials. This includes ensuring proper receipt, maintenance, dosing, retention, and destruction of study medications according to sponsor, protocol, and regulatory requirements. The role also involves proficiency in all pharmacy procedures and regulations, training applicable staff, and working under direct supervision.

Requirements

  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule to include Saturdays, Sundays, early mornings and late evenings.
  • Able to multitask and work efficiently while being flexible to the different types of studies.
  • Must be proactive and have self-initiative to learn tasks and complete training in a timely manner.
  • Experience performing IV admixtures and administering IV medications through the use of stationary infusion and syringe pumps.
  • Bachelor of Science Pharmacy or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of Pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy.
  • Ensure study medications are received, maintained, dosed, and retained/destroyed under stated conditions and per sponsor, protocol, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Be proficient in all pharmacy procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure training of all applicable staff.
  • Attend in-house protocol meetings and sponsor meetings.
  • Meet with regulatory representatives (DEA, FDA, et al).
  • Perform drug accountability.
  • Perform dosing procedures.
  • Perform temperature and humidity procedures.
  • Perform blinding procedures.
  • Perform emergency cart inventory and maintenance.
  • Perform labeling and dispensation of investigational product.
  • Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding.
  • Perform small batch manufacturing.
  • Perform quarantine of test article.
  • Perform documentation.
  • Perform IV pump training.
  • Train subjects and staff on special procedures, run mock procedures if needed.
  • Directly supervise Pharmacy Technicians (full time, part-time, and PRN).
  • Order all pharmacy supplies including emergency cart items, study specific items, study specific drugs if required by protocol, and other concomitant medications which may be required to treat adverse events.
  • Assist with importation of investigational drug and ensure all regulations are followed.
