About The Position

The Senior Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic that specializes in the modernization and repairing of cranes. This position may perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades; as well as solving complex problems when the crane malfunction. This position must encompass self-sufficiency, leadership abilities, effective communication and professionalism in an effort to lead field technicians and be the liaison between HCSG management and customers. The Technician position work in a safety-first type of environment. HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on-call and provide after hour or even weekend services as required due to customer needs.

Requirements

  • High School Education
  • Up to 25% Travel
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100lbs on a rare basis.
  • Requires 90% of frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting and prolonged standing and sitting.
  • Requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Involves great hand and eye coordination.
  • Heights exceedingly over 50 feet from time to time are normal to incur on a daily basis to maintain a crane.
  • Willing to work various shifts to accommodate needs of HCSG branches and customers.
  • Must be available on-call and provide after hour or even weekend services as required.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations.
  • Train and mentor field technicians.
  • Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generating inspection reports and repair orders.
  • Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day so that work can be scheduled and completed on a daily basis.
  • Consult with customers regarding all repair and safety related issues and discuss recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their services.
  • Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in a safe and proper working order.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify immediate supervisor of any deficiencies.
  • Maintain supply of HCSG forms and miscellaneous materials in the company vehicle.
  • Maintain the ability to work with others in team environment.
  • Attend company provided trainings and seminars as required.
  • Participate in HCSG 5 Marks program.
  • Other duties as assigned
