About The Position

At Asheville Detox Center, we are passionate about our work and dedicated to providing excellent, innovative, and compassionate care for individuals battling addiction. Founded by individuals in recovery, our specialized model of care focuses on effective techniques within a fun and calming environment for both clients and staff. We are seeking nurses who share our commitment to compassion and empathy to ensure clients' optimal comfort and safety through vital assessments, medical record analysis, medication management, and efficient fulfillment of client needs.

Requirements

  • RN or LPN license
  • Ability to perform vital assessments.
  • Experience with medication administration.
  • Familiarity with detox protocols, psychiatric care, and medical conditions.
  • Ability to interpret Urinalysis results.
  • Understanding of ethical and professional conduct, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients.
  • Capability to respond to medical emergencies.
  • Willingness to participate in required training.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records documentation.
  • Collaborative skills for working with a treatment team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in addiction treatment.
  • First-hand experience in recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Emphasize preventative care and disease management.
  • Facilitate COWS, CIWA, vital assessments every four hours for clients.
  • Complete intake nursing assessments.
  • Administer medication including those for detox protocols, psychiatric care, and medical conditions.
  • Facilitate medical orders.
  • Interpret Urinalysis results and provide reports for client's medical records.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements.
  • Maintain clear, professional and appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.
  • Quickly respond in the case of a medical emergency, following facility protocols.
  • Participate in all provided, required training, as outlined by facility protocol, Joint Commission standards and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, observations, and incidents in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including counselors, medical and support staff as needed, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall efficiency of the facility.
