About The Position

Alliance Spine & Pain is seeking a PRN Moderate Sedation Nurse for their West Atlanta location. This role involves administering moderate sedation to patients during procedures under the guidance of an attending physician, ensuring patient safety and professional care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
  • Current GA nursing license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Other required training
  • Knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, and supplies required to perform specific responsibilities
  • Demonstrated competency administering moderate sedation
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others
  • Ability to read, document, and access patient information in eClinical
  • Ability to work independently with detail and accuracy
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables

Responsibilities

  • Provide constant evaluation, observation, and treatment of patients during procedures.
  • Review patient charts and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the safe transportation and positioning of patients.
  • Assist with the counts and recording of narcotics at the beginning and end of the day.
  • Administer IV moderate sedation, including fentanyl and versed, per policy and physician’s orders.
  • Assist with emergencies in the operating room, as per policy.
  • Respect and maintain the confidentiality of patient, center, and physician information.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by charge nurse, administrator, or providers.
  • Prepare the anesthesia workstation for the day.
  • Restock medications and supplies in the anesthesia cart as needed.
  • Check equipment for proper functioning.
  • Communicate important information to patients, patient’s family, and staff.
  • Work closely with physicians to optimize documentation and explain pre-procedure/discharge instructions, and medication orders throughout the procedure.
  • Document and maintain appropriate work flow in patient’s record.
