Perform routine and specific maintenance services which may include grounds work. This role involves performing general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment, which may include plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment repair. The technician will also act as a backup for the call person in case of emergencies, responding in a timely and appropriate manner. Safety is paramount, and the technician must handle all equipment safely to prevent accidents and demonstrate a good working knowledge of tools and their safe use. The role requires the ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively, and to follow preventive maintenance schedules and instructions, completing reports as requested. Specific duties include inspecting and maintaining emergency power equipment (generators), fire alarm systems (including testing components like fire doors, audible/visible alarms, and smoke detectors), and lighting systems throughout the facility. Additionally, the technician will inspect and maintain the plumbing system, performing repairs or replacements as needed, and will also be responsible for repairing or refinishing furniture.
