The Float Pool provides a unique experience for caregivers to care for diverse populations of patients in many clinics, units, departments and/or locations in Martin and St. Lucie counties while learning from many of our best caregivers. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on the Ambulatory Float Pool team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. This role is essential in our clinics as the float pool covers for caregiver PTO, unexpected call outs, vacancies and FMLA. The ability to have a float in the clinic helps reduce the burden on the team when they would be understaffed otherwise. Here, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM.

Requirements

• Graduate of Accredited LPN program
• Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• Knowledge of Infection Control Practices
• Experience with technology
• Computer literacy

Nice To Haves

• One year of clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients.
• Administer medication.
• Recognize changes in patients' status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.
• Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
• Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
• Perform patient teaching as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician.
• Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
• Follow Code Blue protocol.
