About The Position

This PRN Endo Tech position involves preparing equipment and procedure rooms prior to procedures, assisting physicians during Endoscopy procedures, and aiding in the handling of biopsies and lab specimens. The role also includes maintaining and stocking Endoscopy supplies, ensuring specialized equipment is maintained and coordinating a regular maintenance program, and troubleshooting minor equipment issues. Additionally, the position requires answering the telephone, responding to procedural inquiries appropriately, and relaying messages professionally. Responsibilities may also include wasting medications according to guidelines and performing IV insertions if the technician has completed the necessary course.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Assembles equipment and supplies needed prior to procedures, including setting up instruments and preparing procedure rooms.
• Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures.
• Assists with obtaining, labeling, and delivering biopsies or labs with the RN or MD.
• Helps maintain, order, and stock supplies for Endoscopy.
• Ensures specialized equipment and instruments are maintained, coordinates a regular maintenance program, and troubleshoots minor equipment problems.
• Answers telephone, answers questions concerning procedures as appropriate, and relays messages in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
• May be expected to waste medications per appropriate guidelines and processes.
• May be expected to do IV insertions (if Tech has successfully completed an IV insertion course).
