This PRN (as needed) Registered Nurse position is for the Pediatrics Immediate Care clinic. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, actively involving patients and families throughout their care continuum. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team to achieve positive outcomes, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with prompt action taken as needed. Administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to protocols is also a part of the role. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The nurse is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications, while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel is required, along with maintaining accurate and timely EHR documentation. The role may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles and assessing data reflective of patient status to meet age-specific needs.
