This PRN Registered Nurse position in the Pediatrics Immediate Care department requires a commitment of 3 shifts per month, with at least one shift being a weekend day. The clinic operates Monday-Friday from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, actively engaging patients and families throughout their care continuum. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position also involves continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, safe administration of medications and treatments, effective communication, and fostering team collaboration. Professional development, adherence to ethical standards, and appropriate delegation are also crucial aspects of this role. Accurate electronic health record documentation is required, and the nurse may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development, and interpreting information to meet age-specific needs.
