About The Position

A family in Austin, Texas, is seeking a private secondary teacher to design and deliver a personalized, one-to-one educational program for a 15-year-old learner with dyslexia. The student has a UK educational background, listed by the family as 10th grade, and has had a period outside consistent formal schooling. The initial focus is to build trust, understand current skills, and establish a manageable routine that supports steady progress toward long-term goals while building on prior learning and keeping future options open. The teacher will plan and deliver instruction across agreed subject areas, using the Educational Roadmap and baseline findings. Instruction should make reading, writing, materials, and lessons accessible for dyslexia while maintaining age-appropriate content and expectations. The program should include prepared lessons, clear goals, a predictable rhythm, appropriate flexibility in pace and materials, and purposeful assessment with practical evidence of growth. The teacher will collaborate with Thrive’s Education Manager on curriculum, assessment, progress review, and course planning, and communicate proactively with the family and education team. The position is an in-person, full-time private teacher placement in Austin. Exact location, teaching space, schedule, instructional hours, planning allocation, employment classification, employer, benefits, and paid leave will be confirmed before an offer. The target start is early December 2026 for acclimation and relationship-building, with a fuller program launch in January 2027.
