About The Position

The BlackRock Private Markets Technology (BPMT) team within Aladdin Engineering is seeking a Director-level business architect and technology strategy leader to help scale BlackRock’s private markets platform across investment teams, product strategy, engineering, data, operations, and client-facing capabilities. BPMT is dedicated to digitally transforming BlackRock’s private markets investment teams by translating business strategy into executable technology architecture, implementation roadmaps, data and operating-model requirements, and measurable adoption outcomes. The team partners deeply with Aladdin Product Management, Aladdin Engineering, Data, Operations, Risk, Implementation, and end business users to ensure private markets technology is designed, delivered, adopted, and run in a way that scales BlackRock’s business and strengthens Aladdin’s broader private markets platform. The team sits at the intersection of Private Markets business and technology. BPMT acts as the connective tissue between investment professionals, product strategy, engineering delivery, data integrity, operating controls, analytics, reporting, and user adoption. The Director will be based in New York City and will directly face off with investment teams and product strategy teams to shape, prioritize, and implement technology solutions that support BlackRock’s private markets growth agenda.

  • Deep understanding of private markets investment workflows across one or more strategies such as Private Credit, Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate, or multi-alternative strategies; experience with front-office, portfolio-management, investment-operations, or data workflows is required.

  • Proven ability to engage directly with senior investment professionals and business leaders, understand their workflows and commercial priorities, and convert user feedback into scalable technology solutions.
  • Strong ability to partner with product strategy, engineers, data teams, and implementation specialists; familiarity with Aladdin, eFront, data platforms, analytics tooling, workflow technologies, or comparable investment-technology ecosystems is highly valued.
  • Superior communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics, frame decisions, surface risks, and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology organizations.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable operating through ambiguity; able to develop a plan, build stakeholder engagement, drive execution discipline, and deliver outcomes without waiting for a fully defined playbook.
  • Strong analytical orientation and comfort working with data, platforms, reporting, analytics, and technical teams.
