About The Position

InvestX is hiring an experienced Private Markets Specialist to play a critical role in building and scaling our Private Markets ecosystem. The successful candidate will bring a strong, established network of clients and prospects who are interested in and capable of trading Late-Stage Growth and pre-IPO equities. You will be responsible for generating and soliciting order flow, executing transactions, and driving liquidity across our trading platform. You will collaborate closely with Institutional Broker Dealers, internal Private Equity Specialists, and senior leadership to structure and close complex transactions. As a senior member of the Private Markets team, you will serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for Over-the-Counter (OTC) platform participants. You will leverage your existing relationships while strategically cultivating new ones, expanding our network, strengthening platform activity, and identifying opportunities for long-term commercial growth. This is a highly collaborative, performance-driven environment where you will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, commercial judgment, and accountability. Beyond a proven ability to generate business, this role requires professionalism, integrity, and strong alignment with InvestX’s culture and long-term vision.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in private markets, secondary transactions, institutional sales, capital markets, or a closely related field.
  • A strong, established network of private-market clients and prospects, preferably including Family Offices, issuers and employees, Venture Capital firms, Hedge Funds, Crossover Funds, and other institutional counterparties interested in pre-IPO transactions.
  • Demonstrated success originating, negotiating, and executing private-market transactions and generating meaningful order flow.
  • Deep knowledge of Late-Stage Growth and pre-IPO equities, including the commercial, operational, and regulatory considerations involved in secondary transactions.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to independently identify opportunities, navigate complex negotiations, and drive transactions to completion.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated, and target-oriented, with the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced and ambitious growth environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, supported by excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • A consultative relationship-building style, with demonstrated success engaging senior decision-makers and helping clients achieve their objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond quickly to market activity, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong team orientation, with the ability to balance individual performance goals with the broader success of the platform.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM to manage relationships, pipeline activity, and market intelligence.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 required.
  • Eligibility to travel between the US and Canada for occasional meetings and the ability to travel as needed.
  • A Background Check including Criminal Record, Credit, and other verifications as required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, structure, negotiate, and execute pre-IPO equity transactions.
  • Leverage and expand an established network of eligible counterparties seeking to transact in Late-Stage Growth and pre-IPO equities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to counterparties, helping them navigate share-transfer negotiations and private-market trading complexities.
  • Apply deep private-market expertise to identify and resolve transaction hurdles, support execution, and drive trades to completion.
  • Proactively identify trading opportunities and maintain consistent engagement with existing and prospective counterparties.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of current and future transaction opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of market intelligence, including trade history, pricing activity, and counterparty interest.
  • Expand relationships within existing client organizations to increase the breadth and depth of active platform participants.
  • Use a consultative and commercially focused approach to present solutions that address counterparty and partner needs.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to develop strategic relationships and initiatives that support platform growth.
  • Identify market trends and emerging opportunities that may lead to new transactions, partnerships, or areas of growth.
  • Share relevant market intelligence and transaction dynamics with internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
  • Professionally and promptly manage inbound and internal inquiries, pitch meetings, transaction discussions, and post-meeting follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all interactions, pipeline activity, and opportunities in Salesforce to support seamless team communication.
