About The Position
Interim HealthCare is hiring a Private Duty Companion in Topeka, Kansas, to support seniors in living safely and happily at home. The role provides one-to-one companionship and personal care, including assistance with daily activities, household tasks, mobility, and medication reminders. Companions help create a safe home environment and report concerns about clients’ conditions to a supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR certification.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license, auto insurance, and transportation.
- Compassionate and helpful nature, good communication skills, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Six months of experience in a healthcare role.
Responsibilities
- Participate in activities clients enjoy, such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies.
- Provide personal care and support to help seniors live safely at home.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation, and companionship.
- Help clients with ambulation, transferring, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Provide medication reminders, document clients’ conditions, and notify a supervisor of concerns.
- Maintain a safe home environment by keeping pathways unobstructed.
