About The Position

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable brass instructor (trumpet, trombone, baritone) to join their team at the Westminster studio. This is an opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that values education. The school offers high-quality music instruction in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment, with established marketing and enrollment systems providing a steady flow of students. Administrative support for scheduling, billing, and studio logistics is provided, along with private teaching studios and on-site support from a Studio Coordinator. Frequent recitals and performance opportunities are available for students.

Requirements

• A skilled and dedicated brass teacher with a genuine passion for music education.

• A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication.
• Confidence and effectiveness in delivering one-on-one instruction.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Comfortability using a digital scheduling system.
• Warm, energetic, and professional presence that reflects our culture and mission.
• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and educational lesson environment.
• Help students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and inspire participation in performance opportunities.
• Communicate timely and professionally with students, parents, and staff.
• Keep accurate attendance and lesson records using our digital scheduling system.
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm every day.
