About The Position

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable low brass (trombone/baritone) instructor for its Gambrills studio. This role involves teaching private lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, fostering their musical growth, confidence, and creativity. The school is the region's largest family-owned music retailer, offering high-quality instruction in a supportive studio environment. Requirements

• A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
• Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication
• Confidence and effectiveness in delivering one-on-one instruction
• Excellent organization and time management
• Comfortability using a digital scheduling system
• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels

• A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
• Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Create a positive, encouraging, and educational lesson environment
• Help students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and inspire participation in performance opportunities
• Communicate timely and professionally with students, parents, and staff
• Keep accurate attendance and lesson records using our digital scheduling system
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm every day
