About The Position

UnitedHealth Group (UHG) is seeking a Privacy Consultant to manage key functions of the UHG Enterprise Privacy Office (EPO) privacy program. This role involves overseeing privacy policies, training, communications, and sustainability planning. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S., with specific requirements for those in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. areas to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience and knowledge in two or more of the following: Knowledge of various privacy frameworks, standards, and regulations, including HIPAA and healthcare privacy knowledge; Privacy Program including policies and procedures, training and communications, governance, strategy; Process improvement or project/program management
  • Proven solid communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to executive leadership, key stakeholders, privacy colleagues, compliance/legal partners, and the business
  • Proven solid team player with excellent people skills; ability to operate independently but also collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proven detail oriented with a focus on quality, customer service, and positive relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to sought out as an expert
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and develop training related to privacy risks

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) or other certification
  • Program management or process improvement experience
  • Experience with or demonstrated comfort using AI-enabled tools, automation, analytics, or emerging technologies to improve business processes, reporting, or program effectiveness
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other data analytics background
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint background

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining, and implementing corporate Privacy policies and related procedures, with additional administrative responsibility for policy management, updates, and the policy exception process
  • Creating and implementing enterprise-wide, role-based, and targeted Privacy trainings, including identifying risk-based Privacy content and corresponding training solutions
  • Contributing to and executing the Enterprise Privacy Office Communications and Visibility plan, which includes disseminating Privacy awareness content in a variety of forums within the company
  • Reporting on the state of and improvements to the Privacy Program, as well as matters of Privacy risk – both avoidance and remediation – to executive leadership
  • Reporting on the state of the Privacy Program and internal controls by providing evidence and responses to external requestors, such as clients and third-party auditors
  • Assisting with the design and execution of metric-based Privacy data reporting
  • Supporting responsible use of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve privacy program operations, training, communications, reporting, and process efficiency
  • Managing the Privacy sustainability plan by administering quarterly updates as well as the annual Business Continuity test
