The Opportunity As a Privacy Analyst on the Privacy Legal Team you will become a vital part of our Legal team, collaborating on exciting privacy and data protection projects. This role involves tackling novel legal and technical issues related to privacy and data protection and contributing to supporting a world-class legal team. At the core of this position is a remarkable opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring Superhuman maintains the trust of its customers and users. This role will work cross-functionally within Legal and with our Engineering, Product, Marketing, Compliance, Trust, and Communications teams. As a Privacy Analyst, you’ll excel by analyzing our privacy compliance posture and participating in privacy and data protection projects at the intersection of law, business, and technology. As a member of the Superhuman Legal Team, you will also help develop the team’s culture through exemplary care for others and a solid commitment to finding creative solutions to complex questions. This role reports to the Head of Privacy Legal.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a privacy role at a high-growth company, advising on legal and technical privacy issues
  • Ability to work from our San Francisco hub a minimum of 2 days per week
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and proficiency in privacy and data protection laws, frameworks, and standards with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable legal guidance
  • Experience with B2B and B2C SaaS
  • Has the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines
  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently and to proactively manage tasks and priorities across multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Passionate about privacy and data protection and how it intersects with technology, law, and business
  • Communicates clearly and empathetically both verbally and in writing
  • Thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments
  • A history of developing a culture of getting to "yes, if…"
  • A team player who leads with humility and a healthy sense of humor
  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Superhuman’s vendor privacy review process, including running diligence on vendors’ privacy practices and reviewing Data Processing Agreements
  • Own/drive review of Privacy Legal tickets (including partnering within and outside of legal to drive legal and technical privacy recommendations)
  • Maintain privacy accountability documentation (such as privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments)
  • Draft and update playbooks and self-serve resources to educate and empower our partner teams
  • Partner with our GRC team and support privacy controls management processes and audits (as needed)
  • Develop, maintain, and establish best practices for the Privacy Legal Team to scale
  • Help with program development, improving privacy work intake and triage, and building our privacy tech stack
