This Printing Press Assistant position will be responsible in assisting the Press Operator. Previous Machine Experience required. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year of machine experience or more working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.

Nice To Haves

  • S.M.E.D. Training desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pressman directly in all aspects of make readies and running a job.
  • Stage raw material rolls for the operator with core tag accessible for operator.
  • Load raw material, make splices and verify that all splices are of good quality.
  • Assists operator in changeovers as needed.
  • Assists operator during web breaks as needed.
  • Labels finished rolls with correct neons & core tags as needed.
  • Monitors roll changes and keeps abreast with roll numbers on log.
  • Reports machine & equipment breakdown to supervisor & maintenance personnel.
  • Understands and supports all policies, procedures, instructions, rules, and regulations (including safety) associated with the Finishing Department.
  • Always puts the goal to someday to be able to operate a press on his own.
  • Consults with department manager and Quality Assurance of any quality related defects.
  • Assist in investigating root cause analysis & corrective actions for departmental needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Relocates skids keeping product separation in mind and maintaining the pressroom in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Responsible for complete all document information accurately.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must cover for operators while on vacation or breaks.
  • Consults with Press Hall supervisor on all assigned duties.
  • All duties assigned to maximize efficiency of press hall equipment.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements and increased productivity opportunities.
