About The Position

Spotting a solution and fixing a problem is a tremendous technical skillset. It requires diligence, determination, and a knack for knowledge. Canon USA, an innovator of technology, solutions, and services, is seeking individuals who strive for excellence in operational, maintenance, and networking support to help our valued customers with basic technical expertise of Canon-supports products. This role involves diagnosing basic mechanical, software, network, and system failures using established procedures, and servicing and repairing designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications. The technician will maintain a working knowledge of multiple product groups, including basic troubleshooting and diagnostics, and meet customer demands by providing efficient, responsive, and accurate Field/Shop/on-site maintenance. Additionally, the role requires proper maintenance of all technical information, Field Service Reports, Expense Reports, and Canon property assigned, as well as providing direction to less experienced technicians and solutions for escalated technical and/or customer service-related problem areas.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • A basic understanding of internet environments and the ability to complete the 120-day introductory period and the PDIF (Printing and Digital Imaging Foundations) new-hire class.
  • The ability to travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary).
  • Required to take all necessary steps to obtain security and/or other clearances required by customers to enter the customers’ premises.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be active more than 50 percent of the time (walking, standing, stooping/kneeling).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • All applicants must reside in the United States at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose basic mechanical, software, network, and system failures using established procedures.
  • Service and repair designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications.
  • Maintain working knowledge and aptitude of multiple product groups. This includes basic aspects of troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Meet and exceed customer demands by providing efficient, responsive, and accurate Field/Shop/on-site maintenance.
  • Properly maintain all technical information, Field Service Reports, Expense Reports, and Canon property assigned.
  • Maintain all technical information and Canon property assigned and provide direction to less experienced technicians.
  • Provide the solutions of escalated technical and/or customer service-related problem areas for any territory requested.
