About The Position

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Print Production Specialist in the Office of Public Information. The Print Production Specialist is responsible for producing digital and printed materials for staff and external audiences as part of the Supreme Court of Ohio’s comprehensive public information and education program.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years of experience required; or bachelor's degree and 0 years of experience required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing demands.
  • Ability to be efficient, organized, and exhibit a high level of attention to detail to create a work product with a minimum number of errors.
  • Ability to work with customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations.
  • Ability to apply principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources.
  • Ability to apply basic design principles to create clear, visually coherent work. Uses established guidelines and tools to produce simple layouts and solve routine design problems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, think critically, and solve issues independently.
  • Strong skills in maintaining structured workflows.
  • Final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and format digital files for output to Print Production Center equipment (e.g., printers, trimmers, binding, booklet makers, stamping machines).
  • Edit digital files for high-speed printing using programs like InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator on Windows.
  • Combine artwork with vector or raster line art as necessary.
  • Submit pre-flighted files to imaging process units and operate print software (PitStop, Acrobat Pro, Command Work Station) on color printers and digital presses.
  • Use design elements (typography, photography, color, paper stock) to create materials (posters, brochures, booklets) and review drafts with internal customers.
  • Coordinate printing and delivery of materials (training materials, displays, posters) throughout the Court.
  • Archive files, artwork, and fonts.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues, perform routine equipment maintenance, and manage service calls.
  • Prepare regular reports and recommendations regarding production and equipment needs.
  • Advise customers on achieving goals and expedite jobs in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure organization, cleanliness, and safety of the Print Production Center.
