About The Position

This role involves operating digital production equipment at an onsite customer print shop. The position requires the ability to deliver contracted customer requirements through defined and routine tasks. Key responsibilities include receiving and processing customer jobs, operating standard finishing and production equipment, performing quality inspections, and managing production schedules. The role also involves problem-solving, operator maintenance, and optimizing document design for reproduction. Training will be provided for specific applications, and the ability to integrate variable data files is necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience operating digital production equipment with a Fiery workstation in a print shop.
  • Good customer service/communication skills as well, as interacting with customers on a daily basis.
  • Able to demonstrate computer skills Functional knowledge of PC (keyboard functions, mouse, etc.).
  • Able to demonstrate Intermediate use of: MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, Web, Internet, and Intranet -- Use standard formulas -- Import/export information -- Embed files into applications -- Move data between Word and Excel.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to use / locate devices (drives, files, printers) attached to network.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to send and receive emails , find, open and save documents and files, perform data entry.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to use internet explorer for web browsing , send documents to preconfigured printer.
  • Able to demonstrate basic math skills (division, multiplication, percentages).
  • Able to demonstrate business maturity and professionalism.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to coach and mentor co-workers.
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Post high school technology training or experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate digital production equipment at onsite customer print shop.
  • Receive, review and electronically submit customer jobs to production printers.
  • Operate standard finishing equipment (e.g. paper cutters, inserters, laminating, and hole punchers).
  • Operate production equipment (printer).
  • Process basic forms and update information using a PC.
  • Collect and submit meter reads.
  • Problem solve issues to complete production, delivery, and output requirements.
  • Perform quality inspection before, during and after output of each production run.
  • Sort and scan hardcopy materials or other mediums for use in printed documents or digital format.
  • Operate high volume printers.
  • Estimate, schedule and track incoming production jobs.
  • Optimize document design for quality and reproduction.
  • Track and store jobs as customer requires for reuse at a future date, including file back-up.
  • Inspect files for problem areas, including fonts, image resolution and image registration.
  • Integrate variable data files into printed format using templates provided.
  • Operate high volume folding and inserting mail equipment.
  • Perform operator maintenance on equipment.
