About The Position

The Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a flexographic printing press to print designs or lettering on rolls of flexible plastic film, paper, and nonabsorbent stock. This position is for the 2nd shift. Wide Web CI Flexographic Print Experience is required.

Requirements

  • Wide Web CI Flexographic Print Experience Required
  • Experience independently operating flexographic or similar printer in fast-paced printing operation
  • Demonstrated ability to read measurements in both standard and metric units
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate
  • Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines
  • Strong technical aptitude with experience in manufacturing
  • Microsoft office and PC skills
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented, process improvement focused
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve outstanding results
  • Highly organized, self-starter that can work with little direct supervision
  • Able to regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting job orders, identifying any possible errors, and setting up equipment accordingly
  • Facilitating the print press process from start to finish
  • Changing plates and/or materials in between orders
  • Maintaining quality by performing all required Quality Control inspections prior to production and at assigned inspection points throughout the process
  • Cleaning machines according to specifications
  • Performing light maintenance and supply inventory, when necessary
  • Safely operating Material handling Equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks) to stage materials
  • Safely, efficiently, and effectively operating the assigned press, adhering to all customer specifications, while monitoring quality, production, and waste
  • Monitoring and maintaining ink pumps, making necessary press adjustments, and troubleshooting and resolving printing-related issues
  • Making press adjustments as required
  • Completing necessary Quality checks
  • Completing shingle board and proper sampling and retain procedures
  • Monitoring all quality aspects of the print production process
  • Effectively monitoring the colors on the printed rolls
  • Ensuring all required quality data is properly documented
  • Troubleshooting and solving printing-related issues
  • Keeping the work area clean and organized
  • Working scheduled shifts and overtime
  • Attending all meetings as required
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor
