About The Position

The Digital Print Manager is responsible for assigned activities in the printing department to meet production deadlines and cost objectives. This includes operating digital printers and effectively leading workflow of digital print operators as assigned. As the Digital Print Manager, you must ensure timeliness and accuracy in printing, while meeting company quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

  • Must report to work on time, alert and ready for production at designated start time.
  • Proficient communication skills and demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy and understanding of customer order specifications.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized and focused on quality.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and respond favorably in all work situations.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure; basic measuring skills and ability to read ruler and other measurement devices.
  • Working knowledge of image editing application, especially Adobe Photoshop.
  • 2+ years supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years using large format or other digital print systems.
  • 2+ years desktop application and DFE color correction experience.
  • Knowledge of various types of printing systems with technical competency in the digital print field required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running HP Indigo digital press and/or wide format banner printer and/or large format UV flatbed printer and/or UV roll coater preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high resolution digital print systems to produce high quality direct to object prints per order tickets; run test samples for quality control purposes; formatting files and running DFE.
  • Verify colors by matching customer requirements; verify ink adhesion to substrate; color calibration; etc.
  • Evaluate output and adjust as necessary to obtain desired quality; troubleshoot machine malfunctions and flaws in print quality.
  • Perform daily cleaning, replenishing of consumables, and replacing of filters & bottles of waste containers and ensure the same of other print operators; perform routine maintenance and ensure all equipment is fully functional and well maintained.
  • Accurately report and record daily production and scrap to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Meet daily print job production deadlines and ensure the same of other print operators.
  • Achieve competency and meet standards regarding setup and run times as established by the company.
  • Reads and follows all job orders to ensure correct product components and quantities in preparation for subsequent steps in the production process.
  • Organize supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, paper, substrates, and other items as needed; maintain inventory levels and report shortages to manager.
  • Ensure proper material handling, conditioning and loading and ensure the same as other print operators.
  • Maintain clean working environment, including routine cleaning and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Practice safe working habits.
  • Cooperate with all co-workers, customers and vendors projecting a positive and supportive attitude.
