About The Position

American Heritage School is seeking a Print Magazine Graphic Designer to work on their annual print magazine. This 80 to 100-page magazine tells the story of American Heritage to potential families and donors. This position is considered a faith-forming role, and the designer is expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through the print magazine.

Requirements

  • Proven graphic design background.
  • Understanding of brand, digital concept/design/illustration creation, print and digital asset development, visual brand awareness.
  • Competent design and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with Adobe design software.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Flexibility.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • An enduring love of youth.
  • The ability to use design as a tool to build better disciples of Jesus Christ and Christian character.
  • A commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • Strong communication and management skills.
  • Share a link to or upload a current portfolio of your work with your resume.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with print/magazine design preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design the annual print magazine, an 80 to 100-page publication.
  • Tell the story of American Heritage in a compelling way to potential families and donors.
  • Actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through the print magazine.
  • Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into graphic design work as appropriate.
  • Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students.
  • Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through interactions with students and colleagues.
  • Be professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement on and off campus.
  • Ensure personal conduct, public statements, and online presence reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose.
