About The Position

Set-ups, adjust and operates printing machine to produced printed parts according to shop order descriptions. This role involves reading and understanding work instructions, interpreting bills of materials, performing set-ups with hand tools, troubleshooting quality issues, and conducting quality checks. The operator will also be responsible for logging daily production and scrap material, following drawings and job orders, adhering to safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area. Additional duties include moving finished pieces, performing daily cleaning tasks, and labeling bins.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years experience of machine operating.
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to perform operations using units of weight and length measurement.
  • Ability to accurately read and write in English and comprehend instructions, and bills of material, and ability to complete written forms.
  • Proficient with basic computer data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a fairly repetitive basis.
  • Requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be team-oriented and be open to corrective feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand and follow work instructions and SOP’s
  • Interpret BOM’s and routings
  • Perform set-ups using hand tools
  • Troubleshoot various quality issues
  • Perform and log quality checks using gauge pins for first piece and last piece inspections
  • Report and log daily production and scrap material
  • Follow drawing and job orders
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations
  • Reports any unsafe acts and unsafe conditions to lead or supervisor.
  • Maintains work area and tools clean and placed in proper locations
  • Moves finished pieces to proper locations
  • Performs daily cleaning tasks
  • Label bins with appropriate part numbers
