About The Position

SkyWater is seeking an experienced Principle Engineering Technician to support daily production operations in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment. The role involves hands-on problem-solving, equipment monitoring, process support, and communication across operations, engineering, and maintenance teams. The technician will help maintain production output, address wafer failures, analyze inline process data, and support equipment recovery and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of directly related semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Ability to interpret, follow, and adhere to company specifications and standard practices.
• Ability to receive and deliver complex written and verbal instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, teamwork, leadership, and effective problem-solving.
• Proven reliability, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment.
• Capability to recommend potential specification changes or process improvements to module owners.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR: U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Responsibilities

• Set up shift tasks for personnel as needed.
• Address particle and thickness failures on production and qualification wafers.
• Assist operators with issues affecting production flow, including test wafers and qualifications.
• Provide and receive daily area status updates during shift changes.
• Support equipment maintenance teams in identifying and resolving process-related issues.
• Partner with process engineers on projects and improvement initiatives.
• Analyze inline process data, including thickness and particle counts, and define action plans for equipment recovery.
• Run production tools as needed to maintain output targets.
