About The Position

This role provides direct, daily technical engineering support for component engineering. The Principle Engineer will lead technical responsibility for the design and analysis of major components, such as the steam generator and pressurizer, to support the operating nuclear fleet, including upgrades, repairs, and modifications. The position reports to the Manager of Component Engineering & Chemistry Operations and is located in Madison, PA, with the option for a hybrid work arrangement.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in an engineering role.
  • Proficient in ANSYS.
  • Working knowledge of ASME codes.
  • Demonstrated experience in scope development, schedule development, budget development and monitoring to meet target goals.
  • Teamwork skills – including leadership and participation.
  • Ability to communicate technical information.
  • Familiarity with creating drawings in Inventor or SolidWorks or similar CAD program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate installation, fabrication, testing, and qualification of new repairs or replacements.
  • Apply engineering principles to assess and qualify pressure boundary components and internals to address degraded or deviated conditions in existing operating environments and provide recommended resolutions.
  • Develop solutions for complex problems, including emergent customer outage issues.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support equipment and process designs, including Finite Element Analyses using ANSYS or similar software.
  • Meet project commitments, schedules, and budgets, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns.
  • Provide technical scope descriptions and cost estimates for customer offers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and implement strategic technical solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports and present technical information to internal groups, customers, and regulators.
  • Provide headquarters or customer site support for component inspections and maintenance during scheduled maintenance and inspection outages.
