About The Position

The Principal serves as the school’s instructional leader, responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment that promotes student achievement.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Teaching, Educational Administration or Leadership
  • Current Principal/Teacher Certification
  • Official Transcripts Required
  • 3-5 years successful teaching and administrative experience.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with individuals with varying degrees of expertise in varied departments/organizations.
  • Knowledge of current instructional practices
  • Knowledge of current state and federal rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of assessment and discipline methodology.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with other staff, parents, vendors and community members in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the school’s charter in collaboration with the school’s board of directors and the authorizing institution.
  • Establish and communicate standards for student and professional performance.
  • Continually assess school practices and procedures and adjust them to support the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assume responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of the students, staff and visitors.
  • Serve as the instructional leader of the school by evaluating and supporting teacher effectiveness, providing ongoing feedback and professional development, and holding responsibility for student learning outcomes through the use of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement practices.

  • Model positive character virtues and habits. Assist students in developing positive moral and performance character attributes. Always leading by example.
  • Responsible for overseeing the financial management of the school, including: development of the annual budget, overseeing the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, approving payroll, and provision of required financial reports to the board, district and state. Also responsible for seeing that the annual financial audit is completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the hiring and supervision of school personnel and staff.
  • Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians, and other educators to assist the students.
  • Regularly communicate with all members of the school community, creating a welcoming, supportive, and respectful environment.
